What Happens in the First 30 Days With a Meta Ads Consultant

I tell every new client the same thing before we start: the first 30 days is a slow, data-gathering start, not a fast-results sprint. I'd rather set that expectation honestly upfront than let someone assume week one will look like week twelve. Here's what actually happens, in order.

Week 1: audit, kickoff, access

The first steps happen in sequence, not all at once. First, a full audit of the account and the business — what's been tried, what the data (if any) already shows, where the obvious gaps are. Then a kickoff call to actually understand the goals behind the numbers, not just the numbers themselves. Then access setup — the ad account, the pixel, everything needed to actually start working.

Weeks 1-2: strategy, tracking, and creative, all at once

This is where most of the real groundwork happens, and it happens in parallel rather than as a neat checklist: building out the actual targeting strategy based on who the business's real customers are, getting tracking properly wired (pixel, Conversions API, the plumbing that makes everything downstream trustworthy), and briefing or producing the first batch of creative. None of these wait for the others to finish.

Ads go live: weeks 2-3

Not week one. Getting the groundwork right first matters more than getting something live fast — a campaign built on rushed targeting and no real tracking is worse than one that launches a week later but actually has something solid underneath it. This is also roughly when the learning phase begins, which is its own reason not to rush the setup — a shaky start there costs more time to fix than it saves.

The back half: mostly watching, not tweaking

Once ads are live, the honest answer is that not much visibly changes for a while. It's mostly research and observation — watching how the account behaves, what early signal is actually saying, resisting the urge to make changes just because something's possible to change. There's a real, tempting pull to start optimizing on day three because a number looks off. Almost every time, the better move is patience, not a tweak.

The first 30 days isn't slow because nothing's happening. It's slow because the actual work — the audit, the strategy, the tracking, the observation — has to happen in the right order for the next 60 days to actually work.

If you're still deciding whether the timing is right for your business, these signs are worth checking first. And whoever you end up working with,

Why I Charge a Flat Fee, Not a Percentage of Ad Spend

Most Meta Ads consultants and agencies charge a percentage of what you spend — typically 10-20%. I don't. I charge a fixed monthly fee, regardless of whether your account spends €3,000 or €10,000 that
