How to Upload Multiple Images or Videos to One Facebook Ad
Running a single ad with several images or videos — instead of creating a separate ad for each — is one of the most useful features in Meta Ads Manager's newer creative workflow. Here's exactly how to do it.
Step-by-step
Go to Ads Manager.
Click + Create to start a new campaign, or open an existing campaign/ad set and add a new ad.
In the Ad setup section, click Set up creative to open the dropdown.
Choose either Image or Video to launch the creative setup wizard — don't worry, you can still upload both types in the next step regardless of which you pick first.
Fill out the Creative setup section, then click Next.
In the Media section, select up to 10 images and videos to attach to this single ad.
Use the Images and Videos tabs at the top (next to + Upload media) to switch between media types while building your set.
If you upload multiple images that are the same creative in different aspect ratios, Meta automatically groups them as variants rather than counting them as separate creatives.
(Optional) Adjust crop settings for each asset — hover over a thumbnail, click Crop, and switch between Original and Crop to fine-tune the framing.
Complete the Text and Image generation sections, then click Next.
In Enhancements, decide whether to enable Advantage+ creative (this applies automatically to all uploaded media — you can't scope it per asset).
Finish the rest of your ad setup and click Done.
What happens after upload
Once saved, you'll land back at the ad level where you can preview how your selected media appears. From there, you can still go back into the Ad creative section any time to edit individual assets — adjusting crop, placement assignment, text, or destination URL per image or video.
Things to know before you upload
10 creatives per ad is the current limit — but grouped variants (same image, different ratios) don't count against this cap.
Each creative allows up to 10 variants, so you have room to cover every placement ratio without hitting the ceiling.
Meta may automatically use whichever ratio it predicts will perform best in a given placement, even if you intended a specific one for a specific surface — unless you ungroup variants for stricter control.
Common mistake to avoid
Don't upload unrelated images and expect Meta to run them as a slideshow or carousel — that's a different ad format. Multi-asset upload in this workflow is meant for giving Meta flexible creative options to test and optimize delivery with, not for building a manually sequenced multi-image story (use Carousel ads for that instead).
