Before we work together, we talk. Here's what that conversation looks like.

Most people overthink getting in touch.

They've read the blog, looked through the work, something clicked — and then they hesitate. Not sure what to expect. Not sure if they're 'ready'. Not sure if it's going to feel like a sales call.

It won't. Here's exactly what the discovery call looks like.

First things first — this is not a sales call.

I'm not going to spend 30 minutes telling you what you want to hear and then send you a proposal.

That's not how I work. And it's not how good work starts.

The discovery call is a conversation where we both decide.

I want to understand your business. You want to understand how I think. We figure out if working together makes sense — for both of us.

"I'd rather say it's not a fit on the call than two months into a retainer."

What we actually cover.

Every call is different, but we always end up in the same territory:

Your current ad situation

Are campaigns already running? On which platforms? What are the numbers telling you — and more importantly, what aren't they telling you?

Your real goals

Not just 'more leads'. What does the pipeline need to look like in 6 months? What's the sales team saying about lead quality right now?

Your team

Do you have designers? A marketing manager? How are decisions made? Who would I actually be working with day to day?

How you like to work

Some founders want to be across every detail. Others want a weekly summary and a call when something important changes. Neither is wrong. I just need to know which one you are.

Fit — on both sides

Not every business is right for the way I work. I'd rather be honest about that on a 30-minute call than waste your time and mine.

What I'm actually listening for.

The answers to the questions above matter. But so does what's underneath them.

Do you see ads as one part of the picture? The best clients I've worked with have a real offer, a real sales process, and a team that can close. Ads drive the leads. The business converts them. If ads are expected to fix everything — that's a harder conversation to have later.
Are you open to being challenged? I give direction, push back on decisions, and sometimes tell you what you don't want to hear. If you want someone to execute instructions quietly, I'm probably not the right fit.
Do you understand that results take time? The first month is research, setup, and learning. I work on 3-month minimum engagements because that's the minimum it takes to build something that actually performs.

What happens after the call.

Two possible outcomes — and I'll be straight about which one it is.

If it's a good fit: I'll follow up with a clear outline — scope, retainer, timeline, and what I need from you to get started.
If it's not: I'll tell you. Maybe the timing isn't right. Maybe the budget isn't there yet. Maybe you need something different. I'd rather say that clearly than drag it out.

Either way, you'll leave the call knowing exactly where you stand.

I Was Running. And It Fucked Me Up.
